The world of wellness has suddenly hit on the wonders of moon milk. So what’s all the fuss about? Our humble guide reveals all!


What is it?

Moon milk (traditionally known as golden milk) ticks a lot of boxes. It’s beautiful to look at, gorgeous on the taste buds and a nourishment powerhouse!

Moon milk is an Ayurvedic speciality. It’s busy with adaptogens to balance body and mind, while enhancing digestion and circulation. It’s a great tonic before bed and can help promote peaceful, rejuvenating sleep.

For the make-at-homers, here is an easy recipe and your pathway to zen in under 10 minutes!


Make your own

Ingredients

1 cup organic whole milk (can be substituted with almond or hemp milk)

1 tsp. coconut oil

¼ to ½ tsp organic turmeric powder (add raspberries for pink moon milk, butterflea pea powder for dreamy blue..)

Large pinch each of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom powder

Raw honey to taste

Pinch of saffron (if you have it, delicious!)

Method

1. Warm milk in a small pan over low-medium heat, stirring occasionally.

2. Once warm add the coconut oil and spices. Continue to stir. Mix until smooth and the powder has fully dissolved. (If you’re after that delicious frothy texture you’re seeing in all the insta pics - use a blender to combine)

3. Remove from heat and allow to cool

4. Add honey to taste and top off with a sprinkle of cinnamon

5. Prepare for zennnnnnnn
